Methyl-Beta-Cyclodextrin is a white powder; odorless, with a slightly sweet taste. Methyl-Beta-Cyclodextrin is a methylated derivative of Beta-Cyclodextrin. In its molecular structure, the hydroxyl groups of Beta-Cyclodextrin are replaced by methyl groups. It has good solubility in water, and its solubility increases with the increase of substitution degree. However, when the substitution degree reaches 13-14, its solubility begins to decrease. It is relatively stable under neutral or weakly acidic conditions. Methylated cyclodextrins have a large surface tension, and are particularly effective in increasing water solubility for oil-soluble molecules.
